The Assistant Service Manager will work closely with the Service Manager to manage a profitable department while guaranteeing exceptional customer service and high-quality repairs.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Make sure customers receive high-quality service and repairs.
  • Forecast departmental goals and objectives and make an effort to achieve them.
  • Create and manage the department’s annual operational budget.
  • To ensure that work is correctly performed, keep an eye on the service department’s workflow and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Understand, stay up to date with, and abide by laws that have an impact on service operations.
  • Keep up with the reporting and service records requirements set forth by the manufacturer and top management.
  • Keep an eye out for trends in repair orders, such as the number of completed repairs, the number of items on each order, the amount of money sold on each order, and the amount of money sold per Service Advisor.

  • Determine shop capacity, services in consumer demand, and how department skills align with customer requirements to plan, analyze, and manage department finances.
  • Create procedures and standards to guarantee effective operations and client satisfaction.
  • Make sure that the service files for your clients are up-to-date and accessible.
  • For the goal of quality control, review finished work.
  • Respond to escalating customer questions. 
  • operate as the factory reps’ point of contact.
  • educate, inspire, direct, and assess the work of the service department workers. 
  • Participate in department staff meetings to discuss activities and/or concerns.
  • As needed, impart technical information to workers.
  • Observe all company and manufacturer rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensure that employees are following all applicable health and safety laws.
  • Carry out any additional tasks as needed.
